Franklin Township Fire Department was established in 1951 in Salisbury, NC. Franklin Fire Department provides services with two stations. One station (Station 55) is located on Hwy 601 just outside of the city limits and the other one (Station 56) is located on Hwy 70. Franklin Fire Department has provided fire protection for this area since 1951. It is a volunteer department with approximately 29 members. Franklin maintains a low insurance rating (ISO) of 6 for it's service area. The Chief of this department has been John Thomason Jr. since 1999.
